The discussion focused on renewable energy, with particular attention given to solar panel projects. The President instructed that all contracted projects undergo a thorough review and emphasized the importance of initiating productive projects based on those evaluations. It was also stressed that appropriate measures must be taken regarding any contracted projects deemed inefficient.
The meeting was attended by Energy Minister and Electrical Engineer Kumara Jayakodi, Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board Dr. Thilak Siyambalapitiya, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority Prof. T.M.W.J. Bandara, Chairman of Lanka Electricity Company (Private) Limited Engineer Janaka Aluthge, Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation D.J. Rajakaruna, and other senior officials.
