POST OF HEAD OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Applications are invited from eligible candidates who possess the undermentioned qualifications and experience for the post of Head of Information Technology in the National Savings Bank.
Eligibility Requirements
1. Academic Qualifications
B.Sc. Degree in Information Technology Or Engineering Degree with Computer Science as a major subject from a recognized University
And
M.Sc. in Information Technology or Management Information Systems from a recognized University.
2. Professional Experience
Ten years Professional Experience in the field of Information Technology and three years in Corporate Management Level.
Should have a sound knowledge of Banking and Financial Services Industry.
Experience in Banks or Financial Institutions will be an added advantage.
3. Work Experience
Should have a full exposure to Information Technology and not limited to understanding of database technology but solid understanding of the evolving technologies and system development.
As Head of Information Technology, he/she should be in depth in technology in Microsoft Products, Data
Communication and Hardware.
Should be acquainted with the latest technology in Banking Industry.
Should be able to conceptualize and develop total automation in the Banking and other office functions.
4. Management Skills
Head of Information Technology must be able to critically analyze and independently take decisions for the best interest of the Bank all the time. Should be in a position to react any emergency and be able to
resolve all issues affecting the Bank with professional approach.
The applicant must have leadership skills to manage and lead the IT Division. He/she must be a team player and be flexible to changes that affect the Division.
The Head of Information Technology must have strong interpersonal skills, he/she should interact with all divisions and must be visible and accessible at all times.
The applicant must have strong communication and written skills and be a problem solver as well as a results/process driven individual.
5. Age Limit
Below 50 years.
Responsibilities
Head of Information Technology is responsible for the following tasks and will be reporting to the General Manager/CEO.
Manage staff who perform daily user helpdesk tasks: problem resolution relating to LAN & WAN management, information security in applications, desktop applications, email and all applications supported
by the IT division etc.
Conceptualize and manage the technical infrastructure of the Bank that focuses in banking operations
Manage all the IT infrastructure Projects and manage the Network operations
Stay up-to-date with the latest technology
Recommend new hardware and negotiate deals for new technologies
Manage contracts, licensing for applications and software and hardware
Responsible for communication infrastructure
Manage hardware infrastructure
Research and propose new technologies
Responsible for assisting in development and maintenance of policies regarding all Business Recovery facets.
Remuneration
Negotiable.
