How to Obtain a Certified Copy of the Certificate of Marriage

1. To obtain a  Certified Copy of the Certificate of Marriage, You have to visit to the Divisional Secretariat of the area where you marriage registration took place.
2. The Application can obtain from any Divisional Secretariat for free.
3. Fees chargeable
1. When you know the Registration number of Marriage certificate, Date of the registration and Division where the registration done the fee for one copy of the certificate is Rs.100.00
2. When you don't know above details and registers not exceeding two years is involved fee for one copy of the certificate is Rs.200.00
4. You can pay required fee to any Divisional Secretariat.
5. Duly filled application and the payment receipt should be submit to the Divisional Secretariat.
6. If you like to obtain the certificate of marriage by post, submit a stamped envelop with the application.
7. If the marriage is registered, a certificate of marriage will be send and if the marriage is not registered a letter to the effect will be send.
