VACANCIES

The Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has formulated the above project with financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank. This project is designed to support the local authorities to improve the local infrastructure and service delivery effectively.

Applications will be called for the following posts available at Sub Project Coordinating Units of Southern &  North Western Provinces and Project Management Unit/General.

1. ASSISTANT ENGINEER
(02 posts in Southern &; North Western Province/General)
Qualifications and Experience 
NOT or equivalent qualifications in Civil Engineering with at least 12 years post qualifying experience as an Assistant Engineer in the Government or reputed Private Sector Organization.
Salary: Rs. 35,000.00 - Rs. 40,000.00
(Level D of the Management Circular No. 33 of 05.04.2007)
*Cost of Living and all other Government approved allowances will be paid.

2. DATA ENTRY OPERATOR
(01 post) Project Management Unit (General)
Qualifications and Experience
Passed G.C.E. (0/L) in six subjects with 4 credit passes (two credit passes should be for Mathematics & English) and passed G.C.E. (A/L) examination in one sitting. Followed a certificate course in computing and should have work experience in computer software packages such as MS Word, Excel, MS Power Point, MS Projects & DBASE.
AND
Two years experience as a Data Entry Operator / Account Assistant in Public or Private Sector. Experience in a foreign funded project will be an advantage.
Salary: As per the Management Circular No. 33 of 05.042007
Age: Preferably between 18 and 45 years.
*Cost of Living and all other Government approved allowances will be paid.

3. DRIVER (01 post) Project Management Unit (General)
Qualifications and Experience
Passed G.C.E. (0/L) in six subjects, good mechanical knowledge and holding a valid bus licence.
AND
Four years experience in Public or Private Sector.
Salary: As per the Management Circular No. 33(1) of 05.04.2007
*Cost of Living and all other Government approved allowances will be paid.

GENERAL
Terms of Employment:
Appointment will be on Contract Basis for one year term initially and renewable up to the project period depending on the performance of the applicant and the requirement of the Project.

Work experience in a Foreign Funded Development Project, especially in the Local Government Sector, will be given preference.

Age: Below 57 years

The applicants are requested to forward their Curriculum Vitae with copies of the relevant Educational Qualifications and Experience Certificates to the Additional Secretary (Administration & Finance), Ministry of Local Government & Provincial Councils. by registered post before 4.00 o.m. on 11th September 2014. The Post & Name of the Project should be written on the left-hand corner of the envelope.'
Applicants, who are serving in public sector or state organizations, should channel their applications through their respective Heads of Institutions. The applications without copies of relevant Educational Qualifications and Experience / Professional Certificates will not be considered.
